Our Promise PDF Print E-mail

We, the adults of St. Catherine's, do hereby promise to our children to raise them up in the way of the Lord through ministry.  We promise to lead by example and to help them to make our community a better place to live.  Specifically we offer . . .

  • A Ministry of Advocacy: We pledge to stand with and in support of our young people and encourage their participation in the life of the church.
  • A Ministry of Catechesis: We commit to train our young people in the basics of the Catholic faith including, Scripture, The Catechism of the Catholic Church, morality, and most importantly how to incorporate these teachings into their own personal relationship with Jesus and others.
  • A Ministry of Community Life: We help our young people grow in their relating to the community. We foster skills in developing good friendships and maintaining quality family relationships. We offer them opportunities to be involved in several aspects of community life.
  • A Ministry of Evangelization: We proclaim the Good News to our young people and we help them begin to understand how this news has impacted their lives. We also help them develop the skill of sharing their faith through words and deeds with their friends and family.
  • A Ministry of Justice and Service: We use the message of Jesus to explain the importance of seeking Justice and doing service. We offer opportunities for our youth to serve in the local community and in their families.
  • A Ministry of Leadership Development: Students have the opportunity to develop leadership skills by participating on various leadership“teams” in the course of their time at St.Catherine’s.
  • A Ministry of Pastoral Care: We seek to develop the life skills of adolescents, such as relationship building, assertiveness, decision making, and planning. We seek to support young people and their families - especially those experiencing divorce, separation, or family problems.
  • A Ministry of Prayer and Worship: We help the students enter into their relationship with Jesus by exposing them to various settings of prayer and worship including “rock'n worship”, quiet reflection, retreats, meditation and shared prayer.
