Overview

Confirmation is one of the sacraments of initiation in the Catholic Church, and in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, it is typically received in the 10th grade.  As with any sacrament, preparation is needed to ensure that the recipient is properly disposed to receive the sacrament fruitfully.  Children are required to participate in a two-year foundational preparation (typically 8th and 9th grade) as well as an immediate sacramental preparation for Confirmation (typically 10th grade).

Foundational Year I Preparation (typically 8th grade)

Foundational Year I preparation can be fulfilled by participation in weekly hour-long classes offered by the parish on Sunday mornings from 9:00am-10:00am  or Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm, or it can be fulfilled by attendance at a Catholic grade school or a Catholic accredited home school program.  Please click here for more information about our Foundational Year I Preparation Program and to register.

Foundational Year II Preparation (typically 9th grade)

Foundational Year II preparation can be fulfilled by participation in teen ministry program consisting of weekly hour and half-long meetings on Sunday afternoons from 3:00pm-4:30pm, or it can be fulfilled by attendance at a Catholic high school or a Catholic accredited home school program.  For those who are unable to participate in our weekly meetings and are not attending a Catholic high school or Catholic accredited home school program, the Foundational Year II preparation can be fulfilled by completing home study materials we will provide. Please click here for more information about our Foundational Year II Preparation Program and to register.
