Parish School of Religion
The mission of St. Catherine of Siena Parish School of Religion is to assist our families in fulfilling their baptismal promises and to lead them into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. We strive to carry out this mission by providing spiritual formation, catechesis, and fellowship.
Middle School/Grade 6 - 8
Middle School is a time of great change and introspection for students. Our program and catechists seek to lead them closer to Christ so that they may lean on Him in their journey through adolescence. We spend time in Catechesis and the teachings of the church, but also in building relationships among them and with Christ.
6th, 7th and 8th Grade
Sundays: 9:00am - 10:00am -OR-
Wednesdays: 6:30pm - 7:30pm
6th and 7th Grade - Meet in Our Lady of Grace
Pflaum Publishing’s Gospel Weeklies, our students’
curriculum, is timely. It features four pillars: Profession of Faith, Life in Christ, Celebrate Mystery & Christian Prayer. The Pflaum resources are a curriculum enhancement that offers weekly lessons drawn from the Sunday Gospel as well as references to the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Each student receives a weekly lesson that is sent home to serve as a family resource, and a copy of “What the Church Believes and Teaches”, a catechism handbook. Our curriculum includes weekly vocabulary with timely assessments, service, grade-level prayers and prayer services, including seasonal activities.
Foundational Year I Preparation (typically 8th grade) - Meet in Parish Hall
Foundational Year I preparation can be fulfilled by participation in weekly hour-long classes offered by the parish on Sunday mornings from 9:00am-10:00am or Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm, or it can be fulfilled by attendance at a Catholic grade school or a Catholic accredited home school program. Please click here for a full description of the entire Confirmation Preparation Program.
Our program will be taught in the new Parish Hall by Deacon Stephen and several of our certified and amazing Catechists!
