Remembering September 11th

Dear St. Catherine of Siena Parish Family,

Today we mark the 20th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on our country. Most of us, I’m sure, remember exactly where we were when we heard the news of these terrible attacks which caused such shock, confusion, and sadness in our hearts. Nonetheless, these emotions were quickly met with deep resolve and pride especially in witnessing the sacrifice of our first responders and, later, of our service men and women who dedicated themselves to preserving our freedom and seeking to eradicate the threat of terrorism.

As we mark this important day in the history of our nation, let us not forget to continue to pray for those victims of this terrible act of violence as well as their friends and families who continue to grieve their loss. And let us continue to honor our first responders and service men and women who serve our communities and our nation so generously each day, so that we might continue to preserve the freedom and safety that we enjoy as citizens of this great nation.

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Neil
