Fr. Valery New Assignment and New Parochial Vicar

Dear St. Catherine Parish Family,

I was notified by Archbishop Hartmayer that Fr. Valery has been given a new assignment beginning July 1. He will be leaving St. Catherine's and will be assigned as parochial administrator of St. Matthew's parish in Tyrone, GA. Although there are some canonical distinctions, for all intents and purposes, the office of parochial administrator is equivalent to that of pastor, which means that Fr. Valery will have the responsibility of shepherding all the people of St. Matthew's parish.

Fr. Valery is an excellent priest, and I am very grateful to him for his service to our parish over these past three years. We will certainly miss him. But I am excited for him as he begins this new stage in his priestly ministry, and I am confident that he will serve the people of his new parish well. We will have a going-away reception for him on Saturday, June 25 at 5:30pm in the parish hall. I hope you will be able to join us to thank Fr. Valery for his service.

I would also like to let you know that Fr. Jose Duvan Gonzalez will be replacing Fr. Valery as parochial vicar here at St. Catherine's. Fr. Duvan is also an excellent priest, and I am grateful to be able to welcome him to St. Catherine's.

Please join me in praying for both Fr. Valery and Fr. Duvan as they begin their new assignments.

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Neil
