Gaudium et Spes Young Adult Seminar

Come join St. Catherine’s young adult group, Abide, as they go through one of Vatican II’s key documents, Gaudium et Spes (translated “Joy and Hope”). Led by the Director of Adult Faith Formation and Evangelization, Jeremy Johnston, this series will explore topics about the crises we face in our society and the Church’s response to these crises.

“The joys and the hopes, the griefs and the anxieties of the men of this age, especially those who are poor or in any way afflicted, these are the joys and hopes, the griefs and anxieties of the followers of Christ.” This opening line from Gaudium et Spes reminds us that we, as a Church, are called to a solidarity with all of humanity. Therefore, the Church must reach out and bring Christ to the world. In this seminar we will explore what that means by discussing the fundamental truths about mankind and the role of the Church in the modern world. We meet Thursday nights until February 24th in the Frassati Room @ 7:00pm. Light refreshments will be provided. For more information contact Jeremy Johnston, jeremyj@stcatherinercc.org.
