Dear St. Catherine Parish Family,
Archbishop Hartmayer has extended the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass in the Archdiocese of Atlanta until further notice. The archbishop has made it clear, however, that it is his desire that those Catholics who are not at serious risk of illness return to the Eucharist as soon as possible, and he has reminded us that watching Mass via live stream is not a substitute for attending Mass in person.
For the last several months I have been working with my staff to provide different options for our parishioners to be able to attend Mass in as safe an environment as possible. As you know, most of our Masses are being held outdoors, but we have moved a few Masses back inside the church as well. And for those Masses that are being held in the church, we also offer the option to attend out in the Mary Garden and to view the Mass via video in real time.
As a reminder, for Masses outdoors, masks are not required; however, social distancing should be maintained. For Masses in the church, masks are required for those 7 years and older, and social distancing should be maintained. For our current schedule of Masses, please see below.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Neil
