Rooted in Christ--Growing in Faith Capital Campaign

Our parish is participating in the Rooted in Christ—Growing in Faith campaign, which is an archdiocesan-wide effort to better serve our growing Catholic community. The Archdiocese of Atlanta is one of the most vibrant and fastest growing dioceses in the United States, and Archbishop Hartmayer has asked us to participate in this campaign to ensure that we are poised to meet the demands of our growing archdiocese for the years to come. Consequently, he has set the goal for the campaign at $185 million, and every parish will be given a target to raise to support this overall goal.
Â
Some of the funds will be used to address more urgent capital needs, but much of the funds raised will also be used to build endowments that will support Catholic schools, college campus ministry, Catholic Charities, seminarian formation, priest support, as well as other important long-term needs of the archdiocese. Thus, what distinguishes this campaign from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal is that this campaign is directed toward providing for the growth and ongoing future capital and ministerial needs of the archdiocese, while the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal provides for the present operational needs of the chancery offices and other ministries supported by the archdiocese.
Â
What is also unique about this campaign is that our parish will retain 30% of the funds that we raise, with 70% directed to the larger archdiocesan needs. The target for our parish is $3,510,000. In meeting our target, we will retain $1,053,000 for our local parish needs. I have earmarked our funds to help with the cost of expanding our parking, beautifying our entrance with a new monument sign and other aesthetic improvements, and renovating our bathrooms in the narthex and down the main hallway from the church, which are in much need of repair and updating (see images below for details on these projects)
Â
Over the next several months, you will be hearing more about this campaign, we will be asking all of our parishioners to consider making a sacrificial 5-year commitment to help us to reach our target. In the meantime, please pray for the success of our campaign and our efforts to build up God’s Church here at our parish and in the larger archdiocese.
New Parking Lot With 48 Additional Spaces - $900,000
Expanding our parking will to help address our frequent parking issues, improve safety, and reduce congestion during Sunday Mass and other large parish events.

New Monument Sign and Ornamental Fence - $100,000
This project will beautify our entrance and increase our street appeal by replacing our monument sign (which needs to be replaced due to the Ben King Road widening project slated for summer 2027), and ornamental fencing along Ben King Road will give our campus a more stately appearance from the road.

Updating Church Restrooms - $53,000
Renovating our outdated and dilapidated restrooms in the narthex area, as well as those located down the preschool hallway, will make them more inviting for parishioners and visitors, reflect our commitment to hospitality, and better support increased use of our campus.
