Chesterton Academy of Atlanta's New Headmaster

Mr. Taylor Bettencourt

Chesterton Academy of Atlanta is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Taylor Bettencourt as its first Headmaster. Mr. Bettencourt has been teaching at the Atlanta Classical Academy for the past six years and will finish the school year there before he assumes responsibilities as Headmaster at Chesterton Academy of Atlanta beginning June 5, 2023.

Mr. Bettencourt holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy as well as Master of Arts in Philosophy with a concentration in Bioethics from the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Additionally, he is pursuing a Master of Arts in Humanities with a concentration in Classical Education from the University of Dallas.

“I am excited to help grow and lead a school where the Catholic faith is an integral part of the community. The fact that Chesterton Academy of Atlanta seeks to begin each day with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass serves as a testament to the desire of maintaining an authentically Catholic environment for students to learn,” said Mr. Bettencourt. “Moreover, having the opportunity to lead young minds closer to Christ and see the beauty of the Catholic faith through their studies is what I feel called to do. As Headmaster, I look forward to ensuring that Chesterton Academy of Atlanta provides its students, faculty, staff, and families with an authentic Catholic environment where Christ is encountered daily.”

Mr. Bettencourt resides in the Atlanta area with his wife, Abby, and their three children, Francis, Patrick, and Mary Felicity. We look forward to welcoming Mr. Bettencourt and his family to our Chesterton school community!
